hl_stills Challenge 27: Connor was due this morning around 4am.
However, since we've had a couple of requests to extend the contest a few days, we have agreed to extend until Wed morning (4am EST) Feb 9. We hope that gives everyone interested time to finish and enter. We're looking forward to seeing your icons.

Day off - finally. I'm working for 2 doctors now in addition to the ED 4 nights a week.
We didn't quite get the wintery mix we were supposed to, but I still stayed with my doc yesterday instead of driving all the way back home and then back again last night.
I'm loving Grey's this season.

I must be crazy, but now I'm signed up for both the SPN Crossover bigbang and the Hawaii 5-0 bigbang.
27 writers have signed up for the H5-0 bigbang, but sadly, only 6 artists. If you would like to do art you can sign up here .

As most of you know, I live in a very rural community. Okay, I live in the sticks. And people are constantly putting out their cats and dogs. My sister usually ends up with them. This time it was a pregnant cat. And this little one decided to come across the yard and visit. So cute. (sharp claws - ouch!)
I haven't named it yet. In fact, the poor little thing was scared out of it's little mind and I've just now been able to calm it down enough to hold it. I'm pretty sure it's a little girl. But she's a tiny little thing. I'll have to get her to the vet and get her checked out to make sure she doesn't have worms or something she can pass on to Methos or Raven.
Methos is being very friendly and lovely. Raven is hissing and running. It's going to be tougher for her.

HLWW sometimes have an event they call a maxi-gathering . Nothing spectacular, but everyone tries to watch an episode of Highlander during a specific time frame and then they compare notes on which episodes were watched and why. They also look to see how many people were watching Highlander at the same time and which part of the world they reside in. Pretty cool when several people participate.
Anyone interested in a LJ Highlander maxi-gathering?
Eight of you said *yes* in the poll. Half wanted to discuss it here and half at highlander_lj. I should have put up a reminder yesterday and I apologize. Work has been a bitch.
I'll put up this post at highlander_lj as well for those who wanted to respond there.
For those who forgot and don't have time today, feel free to extend the Gathering into the week. I'm watching season 2 while I work out and may keep updating myself.
I started with Season 2 "The Watchers" at 10:30am CST today. We got a hint of the Watchers in "The Hunters" which was the season finale in season 1. First time to meet Joe Dawson and find out that a secret society exists that keeps historical information on Immortals. Joe is handsome and interesting although we certainly don't know much about his character at this point. Duncan is hot. Richie is annoying and I love Tessa "either we're together or we're not." Go Tes!

| I'm obviously a glutton for punishment |

I'm home early! I was really pouting because I didn't take any time off for my trip. I did take some time off from the ED, but I did rounds at the hospital the morning before my plane left and the afternoon right after I landed back in Memphis. Then I also worked Wednesday which is usually my day off from that job.
However, as luck would have it, our list dramatically dwindled as people were discharged home, so I was able to take off Thursday morning. Then we had 4 new consults later that day. My doc did 2 and I did 2. Two more this weekend and the list is up again.
But, the ED also cleared out by 4am, so I left at 5am. Had time to stop by Walmart on the way home and here aleady. So I feel like I had a bit of a break and I'm all happy again.
Btw, a little 88 year old patient said she loved my nose *earring*! I encouraged her to get one too if she wanted one. She had two diamonds in each ear and a lovely necklace. She said there was going to be a special star for me in heaven *g*.
I haz a tree! I had been wanting something for this spot in my living room. I had found something that would have been perfect, just the right height, but they were sold out and canceled my order. This is a little taller than I wanted and I have to move Cody's graduation picture, but I have a good spot for it.
This is on the far side of the wall. You can see my dining room from this angle. My roll-top desk. And the little fur monster in the floor.
Now, this is the part where I'm a glutton for punishment. I'm finally at the end of the fanfiction meme. Very little interest, but I made my commitment (although I know everyone was cool if I quit) and I was determined to follow it through. So, in order to finish it up and tie it off, is a public post with the quick and abbreviated results.

I decided to do a quick review of Insane Journal. Is anyone here? I updated my f-list by going to my lovely friend ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) elistaire's user page and friend's list to look for names I recognize.
You know, I'm keeping up with Brothers and Sisters, House MD, 24, SPN, and Grey's Anatomy. So why am I going back and rewatching Buffy? There are great new shows I want and need to watch like Merlin and Being Human. So what's wrong with me? Other than the fact that revisiting Buffy is like visiting with an old friend which is what I seem to need right now.
So - how are my Insane Journal friends doing?
